UCLA Bruins Football

Perhaps my second least paid attention to Pac 10 football team is the next team on my list of 2010 Pac 10 football team schedules....UCLA Bruins. The coolest thing about the Bruins is that they get to play all of their home games at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. Now that's a football field! With over 90,000 seats and top notch turf. I hope 2nd year head coach Rick Neuheisel appreciates what he has!

Milton Knox to Transfer

UCLA's back up running back has decided that he will not be attending UCLA next year and will be transfer elsewhere. The decision was hard for Knox, considering two of his family members suffer from diabetes and they both live in the Los Angeles area, but Knox is in a search for playing time and he isn't likely to find it at UCLA. Knox was unable to get consistent playing time as a freshmen behind John Franklin and Derrick Coleman.. With Gatorade player of the year Malcolm Jones joining the Bruins as a running back, there is really no room for Knox to get any playing time on this team, leading him to decide to transfer.

The next leaders of the UCLA Bruins

2009 was a mediocre season for the UCLA Bruins, producing a 7-6 record. The Bruins will be starting their spring practices in less than a week, and are banking on the improvements of about ten players to bring the next season up a few notches. The top players to watch include:

UCLA promote Lea

UCLA has promoted Clark Lea from graduate assistant to linebackers coach. Coach Carnell Lake needed to leave the coaching staff on Monday due to family reasons, leaving the spot open wide for the taking. Clark Lea is a second-year graduate assistant who has been "hands-on" with the team since the beginning of 2009, so the head coach Rick Neuheisel is confident in his promotion.

UCLA Bruins

The UCLA Bruins football team has found great success since their inception in 1919. They UCLA Bruins have been ranked in the top ten of the AP Poll at least once in every decade since the 1930s, and their major time of success was in the 1950s under head coach Red Sanders. In 1954, the UCLA Bruins football team made it to the national championships. Red Sanders also let the UCLA Bruins to three conference championships and an overall record of 66-19 in nine years.

When the 1980s and 90s came along, Terry Donahue took position as head coach where he led his football team to a 151-74-8 record, which included 13 bowls games and an NCAA record eight straight bowl wins. Over the years, the Bruins football team has had many outstanding players who have been first-round draft picks, consensus All-Americans and many other major award winners.

The UCLA Bruins football team currently hold a 517–348–37 (.594) record, which is one of the highest in the Pac-10 conference. The Bruins have the privilege to play in the Rose Bowl, which is a National Historic Landmark in Pasadena, California. Their home turf holds an amazing capacity of 92,542, and there is rarely an empty seat in the house during a UCLA Bruins came. Who wouldn’t want to attend a game at the Rose Bowl?
