Washington Huskies Shock Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Washington Huskies defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 19-7 in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl Thursday night. It was the Washington Huskies first Bowl victory since 2002. It was a great victory for the program and allowed quarterback Jake Locker to leave on a high note. The Washington Huskies finish the season 7-6, and it was just in 2008 that they finished 0-12. Congratulations to the Washington Huskies!

Sophomore Already Has College Offers

A sophomore quarterback from Scottsdale Chaparral, Connor Brewer, has been talking with both Nebraska and ASU about football scholarships to play for their teams. Both college football teams are ready to offer Brewer a large lump sum to come play, even though they aren’t supposed to offer written agreements before September of the candidates junior year of high school. With the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Arizona State Sun Devils coaches keeping a close eye on him, Brewer is more determined than ever to work hard and improve to the college level

Pac-12?

This Pac-10 Conference blog might be having to change its name to the Pac-12 come 2012. The Pac-10 Conference is thinking of adding two more teams and creating a conference championship game in order to drive up revenue. If the two teams are added, it would most likely happen in Fall of 2012 when the new television contract starts. The Colorado Buffaloes are definitely a contender for one of the two spots, since they fit the conference's profile in academics and location. The Buffaloes also bring with them the Denver TV market which is a huge incentive to the Pac-10. Other options on this short list are Utah, Texas, Texas A&M and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. There may also be a large disincentive for these teams to leave the Big 12 and join the Pac-10... a nine million dollar disincentive actually.

Pac 10 Bowl Game Shout Out: Arizona Wildcats take on the Nebraksa Cornhuskers at the Holiday Bowl

Its Bowl Game Season... almost better than Christmas in my book! With lots of Pac 10 Football Teams in Bowl Games its hard to know which to watch or talk about... So, I'm going to focus on one at ta time. Today's Pac 10 Bowl Game of Choice: the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl. The 2009 Holiday Bowl will feature The Arizona Wildcats and the Nebraska Cornhuskers... both teams have had great seasons and are fan-favorites in their respective conferences.

The 2009 Holiday Bowl Game will kick off at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30th at Qualcomm Stadium. Bowl Game Tickets for all of the Pac 10 Bowl Games are going really fast this season, so don't miss your chance to head to the Holiday Bowl. If you aren't going to be able to be at the Holiday Bowl Game in person, the game will be televised, check your local listings!
